My Sister's Keeper - Jodi Picoult

This is dreadful in almost every sense. Contrived, predictable, badly characterised and, worst of all, riddled with hackneyed metaphors that undermine any attempts at realism. It's certainly down there with the Da Vinci Code as an overhyped, badly written, inexplicably popular novel, but gets a couple of marks more just because it isn't by Dan Brown. [Ju note: I've succeeded in avoiding all subsequent Picoult books so far, which are all Issue Novels like this one.]
