I Feel Bad About My Neck - Nora Ephron

Nora Ephron was probably great fun to hang out with, full of wicked gossip and wry advice, but I'm not sure her writing entirely lives up to the hype. Her very specific brand of humour, based on her affluent New York lifestyle, is hard to relate to (as I found with her novel, Heartburn). There are some laughs but even more 'so whats?'.

Heartburn - Nora Ephron

A thinly veiled autobiographical account of a failed marriage, with added humour (this being Nora Ephron after all). Although the main character is my age, her grown up life of dinner parties, rubbing shoulders with the famous and everyone having affairs is alien to me, and not just because it's set in the late 1970s. Although there were a few laughs, I suspect it will be pretty forgettable.
